ART STUDIO AMSTERDAM ZUIDOOST | 2025/2026 PROGRAM
Join us and come to Art Studio Zuidoost, the place for creative talent!
Are you between 6 and 14 years old and do you love drawing, painting, designing, and being creative? Can you see yourself working with a spray can, or have you always wanted to create your own comic strip?
Then our Art Studio is the place for you! Here, you can join us on Saturdays for the most enjoyable, educational, and creative lessons. In three blocks of 11 lessons (including one double lesson), we offer various courses where you will learn to work with all kinds of materials and techniques under the guidance of professional artists. You will also learn about different types of art and (local) artists, and visit art institutions and museums. The lessons take place in our Art Studio at Heesterveld 35A. The times are always from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM for children aged 6–9 and from 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM for youth aged 10 and up.
A block of 12 lessons, including all materials, costs €149. Children with a Stadspas pay €10. We also offer the possibility of having the tuition fees reimbursed through the Jeugdfonds Sport Cultuur Amsterdam.
The lessons are taught alternately by Noémi Beyer, Rossel Chaslie, and Peggy Reiziger.
There is an important change in the group division. We are now working with two age groups:
Ages 6 to 9 from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Ages 10+ from 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM

DISCOVERING MAKING ART 6-14 years | 12 LESSONS | STARTING SATURDAY, APRIL 13, 2024

From clay to cardboard, from pastel to papier-mâché
There is almost nothing more fun than coming up with and creating something yourself! In twelve lessons, you will create various things based on a theme, using different techniques and materials. Think of painting with poster paint, pastels, and watercolors; drawing with graphite and charcoal; papier-mâché, clay, and working with fabric and cardboard. You will also learn all kinds of ceramic techniques, from creating shapes to glazing. So let your imagination run wild and get to work!

ILLUSTRATION COMIC DRAWING – 6-14 YEARS | 12 LESSONS | STARTING SEPTEMBER 23

Star in your own comic strip!
Do you love drawing and would you like to star in your own comic strip? Then this is really for you! In this course, you will create your own comic, learn to illustrate, and put the world around you on paper. During these 12 lessons, you will work on your own story using various drawing techniques. You will also learn all about color use, materials, shapes, proportions, and composition. At the end of the course, you will take home your comic, professionally printed in a magazine.

Be inspired by artists from your own neighborhood
Do you love being creative with art and learning more about it? You can do just that in our Looking at Making Art course, starting Saturday, January 13. Don’t think you need to know anything about art already, because that’s exactly what you’re going to learn. First, we will look at what famous artists have created, such as Raquel van Haver and Brian Elstak, and be inspired by other makers from the neighborhood. We will visit an art institution and/or museum. Then you will get to work yourself, with help and guidance of course, and who knows where your work might hang soon!
