Free family workshops
The contributions from the Friends of CBK Zuidoost are always allocated to a special purpose. This time, the proceeds will go toward six additional free workshops for youth in Amsterdam Zuidoost, linked to special occasions. On Saturday, April 25, artist Kenneth Aidoo will lead a ‘Royalty’ workshop, where children can create a royal version of themselves. And on May 3, for Empathy Day, Alicia Hoost will host a workshop designed to engage all the senses.
Royalty Workshop by Kenneth Aidoo
Saturday, April 25, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM (doors open at 11:45 AM)
Under the guidance of artist Kenneth Aidoo, children (and their guardians) will work with oil pastels—a type of crayon based on oil paint. The objective is for everyone to create a portrait of themselves as royalty. What does that mean to you? And what does it look like? You will be working on pre-prepared paper.
Workshop for all senses by Alicia Hoost
Sunday, May 3, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (doors open at 1:45 PM). While art is usually only for viewing, you can now also feel, smell, and even wear the artwork. Join heritage specialist Alicia Hoost on a journey of discovery. What is it like to listen to art instead of looking at it? And what scents can you actually detect in the exhibition? The workshop lasts approximately 1.5 hours and is suitable for families, though individuals are also welcome.
Keti Koti Workshop by Rossel Chaslie
On the afternoon of Saturday, June 27, Rossel Chaslie will lead a free workshop in honor of Keti Koti. The exact time and details will follow as soon as possible.
