Auction of Surinamese art
A special auction will take place at CBK Zuidoost on November 22. It features eleven works by artists with Surinamese roots, which are also featured in the special birthday calendar of Surinamese art. This calendar is published by the Stichting Suriname Jaarkalender. The proceeds from the calendar will go toward art education for children in Suriname.
In exchange for a place on this unique birthday calendar, the artists of Surinamese origin donated their artwork under the motto Giving Back — giving something back to the community in their country of origin. The works are being sold, and the proceeds will also go toward art education. A number of works have already been sold, and an auction will be held for the remaining art, organized by board member Nellie Bakboord in collaboration with CBK Zuidoost.
The auctioneer is art expert and enthusiast Pim Deul.
