Come and do crafts on Children’s Day!
Flying heroes with red capes are cool, but what is your superpower? Are you the best at telling jokes, can you run super fast, or are you the champion at giving hugs? On this special Children’s Day at CBK Zuidoost, you will create your own, unique super version and draw yourself as the very best you, with all the talents you already have. You will do this under the guidance of artist Rossel Chaslie.
We will draw, cut, and paste to make one large Super Children Collage (of 1.5 meters by 4 meters!). So come along and show how SUPER you are.
You don’t need any experience, just a lot of enthusiasm for crafting!

About the artist:

Rossel Chaslie (he/him) is a self-taught artist who, in art historical
terms, has developed an expressive and contemporary drawing style. His work
originates as static drawings on paper or digitally in the form of animations.
With this he knows how to reach a wide audience, from young to old. In his work
Chaslie explores social themes that closely relate to his
own interests and personal perspective: that of a young bi-cultural man who
is trying to find his way—both as a maker and as an individual—in a polarized
Dutch society that is struggling with its colonial past. Chaslie makes
both autonomous and commissioned work, whereby his characteristic and authentic
style always remains recognizable. Rossel lives and works in Amsterdam.
