BijlmAIR
BijlmAIR (Bijlmer Artist-in-Residence) is the residency program of CBK Zuidoost in collaboration with Buro Stedelijk and, since 2022, with The Department of Painting and Sculpture of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana.
CBK Zuidoost launched BijlmAIR in 2001, inviting international artists and artists from the Netherlands to live and work in the Bijlmer for a temporary period. The program provides artists with a working period, a living and studio space, an exhibition venue, and a modest working budget.
The assignment they receive from CBK Zuidoost is to create work that establishes a relationship with Amsterdam Zuidoost in one way or another. The work created over the past year can be seen in the exhibition AIR in Zuidoost #2023.
