You are cordially invited to the BijlmAIR studio to meet artist Hugo Palmar. He will present his project Transidentiteitstafel, in which he demonstrates how identity is formed in relation to others, using food as a significant medium.
The project examines transidentity as a process of change and negotiation, extending beyond gender and sexuality to establish connections with migration, memory, and imagination. Palmar explores themes such as migration, queerness, and oil culture. In his work, he investigates power and personal experiences, utilizing humor and contradictions to critically question concepts of desire, hospitality, and ‘otherness’.
Would you like to attend? Please register via Eventbrite.
Palmar is also looking for participants for a workshop he intends to organize at a later date.
On Sunday, May 3, there will be another additional, free workshop for everyone. During this workshop, the senses will be central, just as in our current exhibition Sensory Imagination. Usually, you are only allowed to look at art, but now you can also feel, smell, and even wear the art. Join heritage specialist Alicia HoostRead more
