MMaak! Masterclass with Brian Coutinho

Geplaatst op 17 april 2026, in Activiteiten

During these masterclass workshops, Brian Coutinho will demonstrate the process of drawing in glaze, applying color, and subsequently removing it, as well as the resulting effects. You will then begin working independently, applying what you have learned to the assignment Brian has prepared for his students. Materials are included in this workshop; however, students are required to bring certain specific tools themselves. This 5-part workshop series begins on Thursday, May 20.

Each student begins by creating a small clay object, which must dry and be fired. Therefore, the artist provides a ‘ceramic canvas’ for everyone—a pre-fired clay plate—allowing work with glaze to begin immediately. Each student will complete an object they have glazed themselves, following Brian’s traditional techniques. Materials are included in this workshop; however, students are required to bring certain specific tools themselves.
