SHEBANG 2022 edition has launched. This autumn, two program makers are working at the temporary location, Hettenheuvelweg 8—the work can be viewed by appointment.
Najah Aouaki created the presentation ‘Speculate or Die Tryin’ together with Jessica Dikmoet and Genuinefake. An economist, a journalist, and an artist collaborate with residents to investigate the potential future of Zuidoost. The project tells the story of the Bijlmer, its pleasantly headstrong residents, and the strengths that are essential as a counterforce to ongoing gentrification.
Selm Merel Wenselaers aims to establish a (temporary) Institute for Pleasure Trans Activism. They will do this in collaboration with the renowned costume designer Carly Everaert and other thinkers, writers, artists, and makers.
SHEBANG is an initiative for an interdisciplinary creative space under the auspices of Imagine IC, CBK Zuidoost, and the Bijlmer Parktheater, featuring rotating makers and themes.
