In Dialogue: Season 1
In Dialogue is a talent-scouting media platform where emerging young talent introduces themselves to the Dutch arts and culture sector, as well as to enthusiasts.
In a series of interviews, curator and program maker Claudio Ritfeld engages in conversation with young artists who demonstrate exceptional talent.
While many media outlets focus on interviewing “successful” or “established” artists, it is the ambition of CBK Zuidoost to bring final-year students or recent graduates to the table.
The concept of this podcast is to invite the guest back to the table several years after the first conversation for a reflective interview.
In the second conversation, starting from 2028, answers from the first interview will be revisited.
In this way, CBK Zuidoost remains in dialogue with the artist or maker regarding the developments in their career and artistic practice.
Season 1:
Episode 1: Joanne Igbuwe: Blue Butterfly and The White Man
Joanne Igbuwe (1996) is a social visual artist with a keen interest in photography, drawing, and material experimentation. A connecting factor between these diverse expressions is that she always incorporates the written word.
Her work draws inspiration from various sources and archives, responding to them intuitively.
Episode 2: Elle van Baaren: “Specialize In 100 Things At Once”
Elle van Baaren (2000) creates sculptures, installations, and performances. She creates organized chaos by romanticizing elements of disorder. In her work, she takes social assumptions as a starting point to subsequently undermine cultural norms with irony.
Episode 3: Yrene van Amstel: The Surinamese Carpet Beater
Yrene van Amstel is a visual artist. She works from a broad interest and fascination with stories, experiences, people, and images from her immediate surroundings. In her work, she explores how she relates to these elements. The search for identity and community are important recurring themes.

Episode 4: Sandy van den Brink: Unabashedly watching fashion in an AR environment
Sandy van den Brink’s art practice is situated in the space between art and design. Her practice weaves together diverse disciplines, often using fashion and textiles as a starting point. Sandy explores Caribbean stories and reflects on issues related to cultural transmission, geopolitics, and mental health.
