Programme 24H Zuidoost at CBK Zuidoost

Like every year, CBK Zuidoost is taking part in 24H Zuidoost, a municipal initiative that puts the spotlight on different parts of the city for one weekend. On 12 April, it’s south-east Amsterdam, and you can visit artist Jun Zhang at his studio, see the winners of our interactive Art Library exhibition and talk about what makes a warm place at Shebang.

Open studio Jun Zhang

At Heesterveld, Chinese artist Jun Zhang opens the doors of the BijlmAIR residency. He is there by invitation to create works inspired by nature, different cultures and the future. For his latest work, he is inspired by Dutch heritage – the mazes of the 16th century. He wants to draw a parallel between the urban transformation of Amsterdam at that time and the current urban renewal in Amsterdam Southeast. The end result will be a contemporary version of the labyrinth that also incorporates influences from Asian cultures.
Between 2pm and 6pm at Heesterveld 69 – free admission, but please register via the link on Eventbrite.

Exhibition New Arrivals

On the back wall of CBK Zuidoost, between 10 am and 5 pm, you can view the new acquisitions for the Bims Art Library. During the exhibition Bims Art Gallery – New Arrivals, the public could vote for the works they would like to see in CBK Zuidoost’s collection. The winners are exhibited during 24H Zuidoost, while the large presentation room is being prepared for the opening of the new exhibition on 25 April.
From 10 am to 5 pm at Anton de Komplein 120.

A warm place at SHEBANG

At SHEBANG in Bijlmer West, you can have a say in creating a warm place in the neighbourhood. Together with the artists of the MOHA collective, who are using art at SHEBANG to bring people together. Let your voice be heard over a cup of coffee or tea. And while you’re there, visit the exhibition ‘zero degree’ by guest curator charl landvreugd in the main room.
