Project ITC

Project ITC is een levenslang artistiek project dat zich richt op praktisch bezig zijn, relationaliteit en het organiseren van communities, geïnitieerd door Rizqita Naherta.

Het project creëert een platform in de luwte van instellingen door bestaande ruimte te claimen waar queer kennisproductie opnieuw in circulatie gebracht kan worden. Die bestaande ruimte wordt teruggewonnen en opnieuw ingericht met illegale winkels en internetcafés, met name in Jakarta, Indonesië.

Onderdeel van het project is een installatie en participatief werk waarbij queer films worden uitgewisseld met deelnemers. Zij kunnen de films ruilen voor een queer verhaal, en krijgen een schriftelijk bewijs dat ook wordt gearchiveerd. Project ITC biedt queer onderwijs, fungeert als informele archiefcollectie en zorgt voor queer circulatie via een illegale winkel. Naast films toont de installatie archiefmateriaal van het Queer Indonesia Archive, waaronder zines, foto’s en artikelen.

Project ITC is a life-long artistic project that goes into practicality, relationality, and community-organizing, as it is initiated by Rizqita Naherta. The project creates a platform in the margins of institutions by reclaiming pre-existing space to recirculate queer production of knowledge. This pre-existing space is reclaimed and remade from a bootleg shop and an internet cafe, specifically the ones found in Jakarta, Indonesia. Part of the project is an installation and participatory work where it is redistributing queer films to the participant as they can exchange it with a queer story, along with a written receipt that is both archived and given to the participant. Project ITC reclaims the circulation of a bootleg shop to be queer, and a space for an informal archive collection whilst also queering education. In addition to films, the space will house archival materials from Queer Indonesia Archive which includes zines, photographs, and articles.
