AIR in Southeast #2025

Wanneer: 19 december 2025

Kunstenaars

The exhibition AIR in Southeast #2025 features the work of all the (inter)national artists who were in residence or on exchange in Ghana last year as part of the BijlmAIR program. A wonderful, diverse reflection on Amsterdam Southeast.

The starting point of a BijlmAIR residency is to create new work that relates to or reflects on Amsterdam Southeast. The artists stayed in Heesterveld, where the BijlmAIR studio is located. The exhibition makes it clear that the society of Southeast manages to inspire (inter)national artists again and again in a special way. Listen and read on FunX Yrene van Amstel’s story about her contribution!

Meanwhile in Ghana

While (inter)national artists came to Amsterdam Southeast to live and work here, Raul Balai left for Ghana as part of our exchange with the University of Kumasi (KNUST) to research and create new work that relates or reflects on the environment there.

*BijlmAIR is the Artist in Residency of CBK Zuidoost, in collaboration with The Department of Painting and Sculpture of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana and Buro Amsterdam.
