ZomerSalon Royaal: Utopia

Wanneer: 4 july 2026 - 15 august 2026

Kunstenaars

On July 4, the new ZomerSalon Royaal opens, this time with the theme Utopia. What does Utopia mean to you? And how can you visualize that dream world? That is the challenge for all artists, professional or otherwise, who wish to participate in the ZomerSalon this year. Anyone can submit a work for this exhibition, which runs this year from July 4 to August 15.

Peace

We all have dreams for a better world. Some seem like a total utopia, such as the dream of peace. Other dreams, such as those for democratic rights for everyone, can only be realized through political and social upheaval and remain a utopia until that time.

Nature

Some people dream of equal access to medicine, a less polluting fashion industry, or lower income tax. Still others dream of things we thought had already been fought for: education for girls, equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community. Perhaps you dream of more nature, more art, or more solidarity.

Dreaming is allowed and even necessary, because every change begins with a dream! A Utopia may perhaps never become reality, but the world can certainly become a better place because of it.
So start dreaming and then get to work!

Jury

If your work meets the conditions (see the registration form), your work will be part of the exhibition.
Please note: this year there will be extra strict monitoring of whether your work indeed meets the requirements!

All works in the exhibition will be viewed and judged by a professional jury, the staff of CBK Zuidoost, and by the visitors, who can vote for their favorite pieces.

    Participant details

    - Every artist can participate with 1 work, maximum dimensions 120 x 120 cm.

    - The work must be equipped with a proper hanging system and frame, or the creator must give explicit permission to use pins/nails. If damage occurs to other artworks because the hanging system – or the frame – is found to be inadequate during the exhibition, the creator is responsible for the damage caused.

    - Upon delivery, the artist must unpack the work THEMSELVES and inspect it with a CBK Zuidoost employee for any damage. This also applies when collecting the work. If the artist does not inspect the work themselves upon delivery and collection, CBK Zuidoost is not liable for any damage discovered later.

    - The work must fit the theme; work that does not fit the theme will not be accepted.

    - Please upload the image in PNG or JPG format with a maximum size of 20 MB.

    - The work exhibited during the Summer Salon can – if you wish – be purchased by interested parties.

    - Sales are handled by CBK Zuidoost; the gallery arrangement will then be applied. This means that approximately 44% of the desired sales price (40% commission + 21% VAT on that commission) goes to CBK Zuidoost.

    - Please take into account the amount you would like to receive yourself in the event of a sale!

    - Every artist can participate with only one piece, measurements max 120 x 120 cm.

    - The work must be equipped with a proper hanging system, or the maker must give explicit permission to pierce the work with pins. If damage occurs to other works of art because the hanging system - or frame - is found to be dysfunctional during the exhibition, the creator is responsible for the damage done.

    - Upon delivery, the artist must unpack the work IN PERSON and inspect it with a CBK Zuidoost employee for any damage. This also applies when collecting the work. If the artist does not inspect the work in person upon delivery and collection, CBK Zuidoost is not liable for any damage found later.

    - If the work does not meet the conditions, or has no demonstrable connection to the theme, CBK Zuidoost will refuse the work.
